It was mocking the media reports about chocolate being good for your health.

Do You Trust Mass Media?

The point that we are trying to get across is that mass media is misleading the public with their headlines and articles when it comes to fat loss.

I’ve got to tell ya, every time I read a report or study on fat loss in the newspapers or magazines, I’m extremely skeptical. I’m especially skeptical when I see a bold headline that plays with our emotions and makes outrageous claims.

Recently @FitChic and I read an article in a magazine with a headline that read something along the line of “Chocolate… The Super Food That’s Great For Your Health”

You may have read that dark chocolate is a good source of flavinoids which is good for your health. But what these articles fail to mention that it is dark chocolate and that you only need a very small amount of it to get the benefits.

What the media is doing is placing a bold headline to capture your attention and get you to buy their newspaper or magazine. They know how much you love chocolate and if you read that headline you will want to read the article so you can justify eating the stuff.

What I see every time after an article like this is printed is people consuming large amounts of milk chocolate. Milk chocolate…the stuff that actually tastes good, does not have any health benefit to you at all and will not help you lose fat.

What usually happens when people read something that is good for them, they over indulge in it. Small amounts of dark chocolate may be O.K. for you, but eating large amounts of it will only pack on unwanted fat.

What I want you to do, is notice the headlines that are in those magazines making outrageous claims. Notice, they play on the foods and drinks that you love. How many times have you read studies on caffeine, chocolate, and other foods that people are addicted to, and the article is trying to justify the benefits of it.

Be very cautious. What the articles often don’t tell you is that the study was most likely funded by a chocolate producing company where the scientists were told to come up with a result that proves how great chocolate is when it comes to fat loss.

Don’t take what is mentioned in newspapers and magazines as “Truth”. Do some research of your own. Listen to successful people who have your best interest at heart.

Honestly, you know better right?

You’ve heard the phrase, “Everything in moderation”

Some peoples version of moderation is a bit larger than my definition.

But the main thing is, instead of trying to justify eating junk food in moderation, justify the benefits of eating great healthy foods that will provide you with vibrant energy, joy, confidence, and freedom.

Live the healthy lifestyle…You deserve it!
