I just wanted to express my excitement about these awesome new recipes Scott and my family have been enjoying this past month. <p>I was laughing at myself yesterday because I had made a 7 day list of meals to stick to. I was just complaining to Scott how I needed a &#8216;plan.&#8217; I actually wrote out a list and put it on my fridge. I wanted to be more organized&#8230;and well&#8230;then I discovered the Prograde book and the rest is history! Now I&#8217;ve been trying a couple of new recipes per week!<br />

It&#8217;s been really fun though. If you have not seen my other posts, check them out because I have the videos of some recipes that we have tried. Sometimes you just get into a slump with your meals and its fun to try something new. Even if its just one new recipe a week&#8230;then you can check off which ones are your favorite. The recipes are simple and easy to make, which is why I personally love them. I think you will too!</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s one of them that you can try soon. It&#8217;s a Steak Wrap and it&#8217;s perfect to make if you have left over steak from yesterday&#8217;s dinner&#8230;</p>

<p>Here&#8217;s the ingredients:</p>
<p>Steak<br />
1/4 avocado<br />
1 tbsp salsa<br />
2 lettuce leaves<br />
sprinkle cheddar cheese<br />
whole wheat tortilla</p>
<p>Our kids always love when we have wraps because they know they get to make it themselves! This is just one of those recipes that encourages kids to get involved in creating their own meal&#8230; a great way to get picky eaters enjoying their food that they make. </p>

Here is one of <strong>my favorite meals</strong>.  It&#8217;s kind of a scrambled egg white and veggie concoction.</p>

<p>Serving Size:  approximately 3 late day meals</p>
<p><strong>Ingredients:</strong></p>
<p>16 egg whites<br />
1 very large red pepper<br />
300 grams frozen spinach<br />
3 mushrooms<br />
1 cup cheddar cheese<br />
2 tblsp extra virgin olive oil</p>
<p>prep time:  2 minutes<br />
cooking time:  less than 10 minutes</p>

I pretty much eat them daily.  Combined with a lean protein they make a perfect pre and post workout meal.  <strong>It&#8217;s a myth that potatoes will make you fat</strong>.  I&#8217;ve shed a lot of fat while eating many-a-sweet potato.  Because I eat them so much I need a lot of variety in how I prepare them.  Today I would like to show you 2 ways that I prepare sweet potatoes and turn them into a yummy healthy meal&#8230;</p>
<p>First let me show you the <strong>sweet potato French Fries</strong>.  This puppies are deeeelicious.  Actually, they taste like candy so you have to be careful not to eat too many.  They are very calorie dense so a serving the size of your hand is more than enough.<br />

I chop the sweet potato into thin strips.  Then I place 2 table spoons of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil in a zip lock baggy with some ground pepper and thyme.  I then place the sweet potatoes in the bag and mix them up.</p>
<p>After that I place them on a cookie sheet and bake them for 30 minutes at 350 degrees or until they are soft and a little crispy on the edges.</p>
<p><strong>The next way that I like to prepare sweet potatoes is to mash them</strong>.  I usually steam 2 sweet potatoes with one white potato.  Sometimes I will add a large carrot instead of the white potato and sometimes I just use sweet potatoes.</p>
<p>After steaming them until they are nice and soft, I place them in a pot with a little bit (1/3 cup) 1% milk, some ground black pepper, nutmeg, and cinnamon.</p>
<p>Mash that all up and you have a tasty meal when added with a lean protein.</p>
