I'm glad you posted this about the Breakthrough shows. I have them on my DVR, but I still haven't gotten upstairs to watch them. I don't think it ever crosses my mind to sit down and watch TV! Maybe when I have a bunch of laundry to fold. But I'm with
That's cool that you like the Personal Power program. I love that stuff.

same with Loser and alot of shows..i watch these religously and the almost never share the step by step process of diet and workin out..hmmmnnn suspicious...but I have been a fan and follower of robbins for years he is the real deal and it would take a 2 hour show at least to go through his process--NLP etc.

At first I was ready to get mad at you because Tony has always been my guru. However you are right on about this... the show really needs to be 2 hours or 4 week episodes or something so we can get the "why" and "how" the break throughs happened. That being said, after watching the show I felt like I had NO excuses but to to go out & kick life in the ass a rebuild my business & continuue being in the best shape of my life at 53!

I love his audios and books but unfortunately I will not
be watching the show because instead of watching tv, I will
be working toward blasting off and getting my own BREAKTHROUGH....

JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD BE....the show is made for tv and entertainment and will be not as effective as his actual programs on audio or book.

But hey, maybe the show will inspire people to buy his products...so there is some hope for the show then to actually do some good other than attract ratings. (-:

Great post Scott. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

It was a great emotional show and very inspiring! But like you, I feel there are many pieces of the puzzle missing in order to make it a ah ah! moment.

First reaction in the living room at commercial break: "It's not everyone in the world that could afford a Tony Robbins to help them out."

Where to start when you want to change the life that makes you miserable?

"You are what you think about" said Earl Nightingale in 'The Strangest Secret'.

If we change our mindset, take care of the nature of our thoughts, and get rid of our limiting beliefs, our lives will change.

Easier to say than to do, I agree.. ;-)

But is not success "the progressive realisation of a worthy ideal" ? (Earl Nightingale)

Cheers!

Scott, I think you hit the nail on the head with this post... Tony is a very charismatic speaker, doing his best work in his live seminars and personal coaching. The program does leave the viewer wanting more, fulfilling it's main purpose. Having been to most of Tony's programs... I can tell you they ALL leave you wanting more. Unfortunately, many people leave all pumped up, only to go home to their same old negativity and habits. They slip back into their old ways quickly... and Tony has an answer to that as well... Coaching.

While we could all use some coaching, I think the bottom line is we have to develop our "inner strength" and start to find our own ways of motivating ourselves. If anyone needs motivation... just look in your wallet or look in the mirror... that should just about do it for ya. It's worked for me over the years and whenever I slip back (and we all do) I just try to coach myself as I would coach someone else.

Thanks for you insight and what you do!

It's unfortunate that they left out the middle of how they got from the idea of the plane to the actual jump. Like you said, that's where the magic happens. I think that's why I love some of the other shows so much like Biggest Loser or Losing it with Jillian because they really delve into the minds and hearts of the folks so that they know why they are the way they are and then they can change themselves.
Kind of like going on a crash diet - showing the before and after, well, yes, the person lost a bunch of weight, but did they learn anything, no.

I love Tony Robbins. His speeches and stuff are motivational. I wanted to see the program but unfortunately I was busy. I am going to try and see if I can find it online somewhere so I can see the whole thing then I will be able to offer a more independent review.

Thanks for your insights and thoughts though. I really do value your opinions and views also.
